ÉVÉNEMENT | 80e anniversaire de la Libération du Pas-de-Calais et du pays de Saint-Omer

From 4 to 20 September, let's celebrate together the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Pas-de-Calais and Saint-Omer. Numerous events are scheduled:
Exhibition, Camp & military vehicles, Ceremonies, Conferences.

Temporary exhibition on display from 5 to 8 in Blendecques: "When the 1st Polish Armoured Division liberated the Pas-de-Calais". Opening on 4/09 at 6pm

Thursday 5 September:
Ceremonies in Wittes (9.45am), then Arques (from 11am), then at the Polish Monuments in Blendecques (3.30pm) and Saint-Omer (5.30pm).
At 6pm: Place Foch in Saint-Omer. In the presence of French and Polish authorities (embassy, families...), families of Polish veterans, re-enactors...

Friday 6 September:
- Opening of the temporary exhibition and the camp: 9am-6pm.
- 6.30pm in the "salle du parc" at Blendecques town hall:
Conference on the role of the 1st Polish Armoured Division in the liberation battles of September 1944, with the participation of writer Jacques Viacek and local historian Hugues Chevalier.

Saturday 7th September:
9:45-10:45 Mass in honour of Polish soldiers at Notre-Dame de Wisques Abbey: Polish delegation and guests from the association...
11am Visit by the Polish delegation to the Leubringhem cemetery "visit by Polish families only".
Opening of the temporary exhibition (10am-7pm) Opening of the camp (10am-7pm).

Sunday 8 September:
Opening of the temporary exhibition (10am-5pm) Opening of the camp (10am-5pm).

Friday 20 September :
6.30pm at the Salle du Poilu in Arques Town Hall: conference on the liberation of the town of Arques and the use of the Arques airfield by the Allies with the participation of Mr Jocelyn Leclerc and Mr Hugues Chevalier, historians...
