Frédéric Tentelier adopts a working method centred on the arrangement of diverse materials, juxtaposed in multiple-entry schemes, and combines them through analogies, associations of ideas, interferences and collages. He is particularly interested in the links between forgetting, memory, time, sound, silence and wandering. Discontinuity is his principle of organisation and assembly, requiring a taste for digression, back and forth, mazes, dreams and non-narrative logic.

Between chaos and measure, initiation rites and the search for a hypothetical centre, the labyrinth asks questions and sometimes answers them with enigmas. Its precise origins have been forgotten, but it has persisted for thousands of years. Is it a symbol, a sign of recognition, a game? More like a temporal wandering, a space in the process of being built...
