How did Maria Skłodowska, a brilliant but unassuming young woman from Warsaw, become the illustrious double Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie? A jubilant play that combines storytelling, theatre, music and song to celebrate the beauty of a scientific vocation. The biographical facts are accompanied by a marvellous story: Maria, as a child, often dives into an imaginary forest in search of the fern flower, which, in Polish mythology, gives access to supernatural knowledge. This elusive flower glows with an emerald light, just like the radium later discovered by Marie Curie.

"What is Storytelling in the Countryside? It's a festival of professional storytellers from all over France who travel to the rural towns and villages of our region to put down their luggage for one or two shows, in which CAPSO and its network of libraries are partners. With shows for young audiences, families, music and adults, there's something for everyone in this eclectic programme. Once again this year, the library network is hosting several artists. Don't know the libraries in the network yet? This is a great opportunity to discover them, whatever your age.
