It is both the splendid town house of the same name and a collection rich in two hundred years of acquisitions. Right in the heart of Saint-Omer, on Rue Carnot, a sumptuous 18th-century mansion stands behind an imposing wrought-iron gate. It is one of the finest examples of civil architecture of the period in the region, and has been home to the Musée Sandelin since 1904. The museum's identity revolves around three main themes: Art, History and Nature, thanks to the diversity of its collections. These are linked to local history, but also to that of the arts and natural history in France and around the world. Come and discover the history of the region through the many masterpieces on display, and take a look elsewhere in the reception rooms and curiosity cabinets, filled with works donated by collectors.
