VISITE NATURE | VISITE "LES BALLASTIÈRES"

Accompanied by an enthusiastic guide, discover this natural area and its flora and fauna. 6 visits are scheduled for spring 2023! The walking route is approximately 4km.

"Just outside the town of Aire-sur-la-Lys, on the north side, lies a small paradise reclaimed from a former ballast extraction site and transformed into a 20-hectare nature reserve. The site has been carefully restored to allow nature to express itself fully in all seasons.
Walking trails and a bird observatory have been created, and Highland vahces have been invited to stay in the reserve in exchange for some minor clean-up work. You may have explored this relaxing place and met some of its inhabitants, but you certainly haven't seen everything. For that, we invite you to follow one of the specialist guides in this biodiversity observation and conservation area.

The Aire Animation Patrimoine (AAP) association offers guided tours of Aire-sur-la-Lys, helping to promote the town's heritage and monuments.
