Looking for a good trail run? Do you want to challenge yourself and run in the heart of nature? In Lumbres, you’ll find your ideal playground! In the heart of the Opal hills, the only trail station north of Paris is the perfect starting point for marked trails in the heart of extraordinary landscapes.

A comfortable trail station

The Pays de Lumbres is one of the most beautiful French destinations for trail running according to “On Piste”, a recognized expert in the discipline! With the Lumbres trail station, a member of the international network, you can be sure of a successful sporting experience!

No headaches with preparations, no unpleasant surprises on site, this sports base is equipped with all the facilities you need to do sport without having to pack all your gear. Showers, sanitary facilities, lockers and changing rooms (accessible 24 hours a day via coin-operated lockers): everything is provided.

Life-size landscapes

1 hour from Lille, 15 minutes from Saint-Omer and 30 minutes from the Opal Coast, what a change of scenery! At the heart of the Parc naturel régional des Caps et Marais d’Opale, the Pays de Lumbres is famous for its relief, limestone hillsides, forests, streams, small mountains and valleys.

Top for disorienting trail sensations, the slightly wild spirit of nature, with a friendly altitude to challenge yourself (maximum 214 meters) and have good sensations.

Sport and discovery

Whether you’re an occasional or regular sportsman, 9 signposted routes from 10 to 44 km offer 4 levels of difficulty for a total of 220 km. You can test yourself on easy, technical or very physical loops.

Two starting points are available: the Pays de Lumbres Tourist Office and the Seninghem municipal stadium. The signposting is undeniably one of the region’s strong points. Visible, precise, efficient: the best when you want to perform without getting lost.

Treasures to discover

And what a pleasure it is to discover the extraordinary heritage of this beautiful countryside! Little chapels and charming villages, immersion in the heart of the Bois d’Esquerdes, unusual landscapes and extraordinary panoramas on the heights of the Réserve naturelle des coteaux de Wavrans-sur-l’Aa: each loop offers its share of discoveries, surprises in terms of flora and fauna, and breathtaking views in this corner of the Pas-de-Calais.

A weekend of trail and fun

Did your race make you want to extend your stay? Gîtes, chambres d’hôtes, various activities (golf, RandoRail, museums, Chemin de Fer Touristique de la Vallée de l’Aa) are nearby to program a weekend with family or friends.

You can run in peace while everyone else is having fun! And if you want an incredible experience, come in April for the famous Trail Evasion en Pays de Lumbres starting in Seninghem. 10, 16, 24 or 36 km: it’s a not-to-be-missed event for thousands of runners. And an opportunity to take part in a good cause, as funds are donated each year to associations and structures working to help children with disabilities.
