From 8 November 2025 to 29 March, discover the exhibition “Grand déballage, enquêtes dans les collections” at the Musée Sandelin. Dive behind the scenes of the museum and discover an important mission of the art management team: the recoiling of the collections, which concerns more than 55,000 objects! Why is this colossal task absolutely essential? Because it makes it possible to locate and identify objects, indicate their state of conservation and gather a whole host of information about them. These surveys of the collections provide an opportunity not only to study the works and plan their restoration, but also to exhibit them and even take them on trips, because let’s not forget that one of the essential missions of a museum is to share them with everyone! Restored Japanese paintings, rediscovered Mexican figurines, masterpieces recovered after theft… the Musée Sandelin is the place to be!
