Did you know? Since July 12, La Coupole has been offering a revolutionary new tour formula that plunges you into the heart of the history of the Second World War. When you arrive, you’ll be given a touch-sensitive tablet and a headset that will reveal in detail the major events that played out in Wizernes and around the world. The experience is interactive and appeals to your senses. Lighting, soundtrack, orientation in space, finding your way around on a map… Thanks to augmented reality, you’ll discover videos and 3D animations that simulate events throughout your visit to the monument. As you make your way through the galleries, and depending on the orientation of your tablet, which you can manipulate and rotate 360°, the image displayed changes with your movements, showing you what the site around you might have looked like during the construction phase, as if you were actually there. What’s more, you can interact freely with the tablet by selecting points of interest on the interactive map that appears on the screen. This allows you to expand anddeepen your knowledge of a multitude of subjects through the exhibition themes. Among other subjects, you’ll learn about the stakes involved in the project to build a secret base dedicated to the launch of V2 in the South of England and London, the stages and techniques involved in building the site, including the impressive concrete dome, and the working conditions of the workers. You’ll also learn a great deal about the great adventure of the conquest of space, the dark days of the Deportation and the Occupation. Finally, the whole family can enjoy a treasure hunt. As you discover new themes during your visit to the exhibitions, you’ll have the chance to unearth “treasures” to collect. Enjoy your visit!
