THE JOYS OF SPRING
The fine weather is back, and we’re all delighted! Spring won’t officially arrive until 20 March, but already the trees are budding, flowers are blooming everywhere and birds are preparing their nests: something is afoot… It’s so peaceful and satisfying to stroll along the paths and tracks of our countryside! You don’t have to go far to get a change of scenery: even on the outskirts of town, dare to take a few steps in a square or a garden, and you’re already escaping and calming yourself. Reconnecting with nature does you a world of good!

Pays de Saint-Omer is renowned for its incredibly well-preserved and pleasant surroundings, with rare landscapes that change with the rhythm of the market gardening seasons. At Pays de Saint-Omer you’ll find a host of signposted hiking, cycling and mountain-biking trails to satisfy your curiosity and your desire to keep fit.
DO YOU LIKE WALKING WITH OTHERS? CAPSO and local associations can help:
- Les Randos de la CAPSO: led by Ludovic every week from April to October, you can choose between 3 formulas and 3 distances: 6km family walks on Saturdays, 8km guided walks to meet local people and 12km hikes at a moderate pace on Wednesdays, always at 2pm.
- The “L’Audomarois an Marche” association organises 3 morning outings a week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), led by enthusiastic volunteers. Departure at 8.30am for car pooling from the Maison des Associations car park in Saint-Omer.

- The Office de Tourisme et des Congrès du Pays de Saint-Omer provides free downloads of the referenced hiking trails. If you prefer the paper version, the hiking maps are available in the shop for €0.50 per map.
