Explore the region with a Geotour

A fun way to discover the region

A great adventure awaits you in the Pays de Saint-Omer! Do you love riddles, challenges and discoveries? Geocaching is for you! Good news: the Pays de Saint-Omer is launching its GeoTour (GT8A), the only active one to date in France.

How does it work?

Set off on an adventure!

80 caches are laid out across the Pays de Saint-Omer and Pays de Lumbres. A small pot, an iron box, a birdhouse… So many objects to discover during a great fun treasure hunt, with the help of your smartphone’s GPS. At each site, you’ll discover a logbook and can indicate your passage. The app will also let you report any caches you’ve discovered.

Who's it for?

A game for everyone

Geocaching appeals to young and old, families, groups of friends, solo adventurers… Born in the USA in the 2000s, this activity has developed worldwide and now attracts players from all over the planet.
It is above all a playful activity that lets you wander around and discover natural, cultural or heritage sites in an original way. Geocaching can be done free of charge, and the geotour doesn’t have to be covered in its entirety. It’s possible to search for just a few caches along the way, just for fun.
Competitors who like a challenge will also find something to their liking, with prizes to be won when you complete a course or discover a significant number of caches in a minimum amount of time.
Beware: caches are classified according to different levels of difficulty. Sometimes you’ll have to climb a tree or cross a river to find one. Others can only be reached with a ladder… All these details are available on the app so you can equip yourself and select the caches that match your desires.
