ELECTRO GNAOUA SIESTE with Omar EK
Before the start of the new school year, the culture department invites you to a family concert (adapted volume and duration) for children with Omar EK.
At the end of the concert, a snack will be offered to the children.
The proposed musical siesta is based on "Gnaoua", a music played by descendants of slaves in which trance plays an important role. This is usually accompanied by raw sounds, often rich in rhythm and energy. The proposed format of this Electro-Gnaoua siesta aims to soften these energies while retaining the trance associated with this music. The format also aims to modernise Gnaoua standards using synthesizers, machines and an electric guenbri (Gnaoua guitar).
Who is OMAR EK?
He has dabbled in Makossa with Cameroonians, flirted with Guinean musicians and deciphered Portuguese-speaking cultures on stage with Brazilians. Omar Ek makes music the way we pack and unpack suitcases: with an insatiable appetite for the unexpected. Born in Casablanca, Morocco, and now based in Lille, the musician throws electro-funk paving stones into the Mediterranean pond.
It's EK, it's bath, it's In.
