The writer and journalist Olivier Pernot's phrase "The meteor of the guitar" perfectly sums up Jimi Hendrix's meteoric rise. In just four years, from 1967 to 1970, the American simply revolutionised pop music and the approach to the guitar. The lecture will be presented by Olivier Pernot, with the participation of students from the S2TMD section of the Lycée Ribot, who will be offering the public a listening guide to Hendrix's essential songs played live. It's an opportunity to rediscover the lyricist Jimi Hendrix, his political involvement, and his perpetual quest for improvisation, innovation and sonic hybridisation.
