Sébastien Desplat, OK Moku Hanga, from 24 January to 7 March 2026
Winner of the VILLA KUJOYAMA in 2022, publisher and engraver Sébastien Desplat is interested in the ancestral techniques of woodblock printing and how to respond to current challenges linked to the preservation of our environment. Together with graphic designer Fanette Mellier, he is developing a book project based on the wood engraving process (moku hanga in Japanese), which he studied in Kyoto. Based on this creation and his experiences in Japan, he has designed a scenographic exhibition for September 2025 at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, then adapted for space 36 in January 2026.
To mark the occasion, a partnership has been set up with the Musée Sandelin, notably for loans of Japanese prints chosen by the artist from the museum's collection.
From 7 February to 7 March, the Bibliothèque d'Agglomération du Pays de Saint-Omer will be hosting "Ok Ephemera", a retrospective exhibition of the artist's publishing work.
Exhibition open to the public
