CARMEN - Lyrical in camera show at La Motte Castrale

To commemorate the anniversary of Georges Bizet's death, Lyric & Co, a professional musical theatre company from Audomar, is staging an original retelling of Carmen, the most performed opera in the world.
In the striking setting of the Motte Castrale, this production is presented as a theatrical huis clos, where only the protagonists of the work come to life, trapped in the implacable destiny mapped out for them by the music of Georges Bizet.
Staged in the form of a dramatic role-play, the action centres on the central figures of the opera: Carmen, Don José, Escamillo and Micaëla. The audience, silent witnesses and accomplices, witness the growing intensity of the passions that collide, right up to the inevitable tragedy.
A popular, timeless opera, here rethought in a refined, immersive and concentrated form, the better to bring out its tension, modernity and emotional power. Carmen as a theatre of truth.
