As part of the National Days of the French Pigeon Fanciers' Federation in Saint-Omer on 23 and 24 January 2026, the play Pigeons, written and performed by Kévin Defossez, will be presented at the Salle Balavoine in Arques.
This atypical production blends theatre and pigeon racing with a rare sincerity: in the form of a poetic one-man show, Kévin recounts his meeting with Ghislain, his "coulonneux" mentor, and his beginnings in the game of pigeon racing, going on to question the evolution of a popular passion in a now globalised world.
The play invites us to think: "Why do we play? Is it for the game or for the pigeons? For art or for money?" With humour, emotion and poetry, Pigeons gets the spectator's imagination off the ground while connecting them to a culture charged with meaning.
Price: €15, booking required.
