The town festival is an institution in Arques, dating back to the liberation of the town in September 1944. Every year, on the first weekend in September, the town celebrates! This year, the festivities will run from 05 to 10 September, with all the ingredients that have made it such a success: funfair, flea market, monster market, mussels and chips and much more... Here's the programme!
Friday 5th September :
5.00 pm: Opening of the town festival and funfair
Followed by a friendly drink in the town hall
Evening: Pasta and pizza at "Lilipizz". (Place Roger Salengro)
Saturday 6th September :
3pm: 5th edition of the Semis du Houblon organised by the Tyrannosaures
Leaving from the Goudale brewery
3pm-7pm: 1st day of javelin competitions at the javelin centre (rue Henri Puype)
8pm-2am: Karaoke at the "Le Cristal" café, 1 avenue De Gaulle
Lunch and dinner: mussels and chips at the BF (12 place R. Salengro)
Evening: moules frites at "Pizza potes" (10 av. du général de Gaulle) / Pasta, pizza at "Lilipizz" (Place Roger Salengro)
Le Vincennes: concert from 7pm to 10pm
Sunday 7 September :
11am: 81st anniversary of the Liberation of the town at the cemetery memorial
11.30am: Ceremony of communal recognition at the Salle du POILU (presentation of medals to associations)
6 am - 5 pm: Flea market organised by the "EXPRESSO DART'S and DREAM TEAM" Associations (streets Avenue du Général de Gaulle, rue de la Liberté, quai de Wadgassen, part of the Parvis des Droits de l'Homme)
12.30-3.00 pm: SANGRIA offered by the municipality with musical entertainment at the flea market
10am-3pm: Fishing competition on the Neuf fossé canal organised by the Union Arquoise section Team Dudule competition and the Municipality, in partnership with the AAPPMA Union Arquoise.
Prizes awarded at 4pm. Registration with Mr Alain Charlemagne after 6pm on 03.21.88.02.12.
3pm-7pm: 2nd day of javelin competition
8pm - 2am: "80s" party at the "Le Cristal" café - 1, Avenue du Général de Gaulle
Lunch and dinner: mussels and chips at the BF
Noon/evening: Mussels and chips at "Pizza Potes" / Pasta and pizza at "Lilipizz" (Place Roger Salengro)
Tuesday 9 September:
8am - 3pm: Monster market organised by ESA Foot and the local council (avenue de Gaulle).
7pm: Ducasse football match at the Alfred André stadium
Noon: Mussels and chips at Le Groët de Marie (9 Place Roger Salengro), Le Cristal
(1 Avenue du Général de Gaulle), "Aux Pizzas Potes" (10 Avenue du Général de Gaulle),
Noon: And at "Lilipizz" (Place Roger Salengro) fried mussels and fried roast pork
Lunch: Mussels and chips at the BF and musette dinner with Fabrice LAMARRE (lunchtime)
