Description
As every year, the start of the new school year will be a festive occasion in Arques, as the town festival will run from 4 to 9 September, featuring a host of events. A funfair, sports, a huge market, mussels and chips at participating restaurants, a commemoration and competitions: once again, there will be something for everyone.

FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER
5.00 pm: Opening of the town festival and funfair
Evening: Pasta and pizzas at ‘Lilipizz’. (Place Roger Salengro)
Lunch/Evening: Regular opening at Le Bon Coin
In the evening: concert at Le Vincennes
SATURDAY 5 SEPTEMBER
3.00 pm: 6th edition of the ‘Semis du Houblon de nature sport audo’, starting from the Goudale brewery
3.00 pm–7.00 pm: first day of the javelin competition at the javelin club (rue Henri Puype)
8.00 pm–2.00 am: Karaoke at ‘Le Cristal’ café, 1 avenue De Gaulle
Lunch and dinner: mussels and chips at the BF (12 place R. Salengro)
Evening: mussels and chips at “Pizza potes” (10 Avenue du Général de Gaulle) / Pasta and pizzas at “Lilipizz” (Place Roger Salengro)
In the evening: concert at Le Vincennes
Lunch/Evening: traditional market at Le Bon Coin
SUNDAY 6 SEPTEMBER
82nd anniversary of the town’s Liberation at the cemetery memorial
Communal tribute ceremony at the Salle Devillers
6.00 am – 6.00 pm: Free communal flea market on Quai de Wadgassen & Avenue de Gaulle
10.00–15.00: Fishing competition on the Neuffossé Canal, organised by the Union Arquoise’s ‘Team Dudule’ competition section and the local council, in partnership with the AAPPMA Union Arquoise.
Prize-giving at around 4.00 pm on site. Register with Mr Alain Charlemagne after 6.00 pm on 03 21 88 02 12.
3.00 pm – 7.00 pm: Second day of the javelin competition
8.00 pm – 2.00 am: ‘80s’ theme night at ‘Le Cristal’ café – 1, Avenue du Général de Gaulle
