L'Angelus estaminet in Serques

A gourmet stopover on your walks

When you open the door of L’Angelus in the heart of the village of Serques, you’ll find all the hallmarks of Flemish estaminets. A warm welcome, a place where conviviality rhymes with the authenticity of seasonal, locavore cuisine. Here’s an address to discover without delay…

Authenticity and warmth

A gourmet break in the countryside

The new setting is set. Hops, lace, a wood-burning fireplace… The charm of yesteryear is all around us. Since December 1, 2023, Jean-Bernard Condette has been the proud owner of the estaminet at the foot of the village church. The restaurant has been renamed L’Angelus. Having worked in the restaurant business for many years, Jean-Bernard brings his own personal touch to the place. His aim is to make it a real meeting place for locals and visitors to the Audomarois region.

The Angelus in Serques

Attractive specialties and formulas

Our approach is to offer a limited menu of dishes prepared on site using quality local produce. As a result, you’ll be able to indulge in must-try regional dishes and specialties such as carbonnade, welsh, potjevleesch, waterzooï, ribs on the bone and grilled meats. A crisp salad and delicious golden-crisp fries complete the picture. And if you’re feeling a little thirsty, you’ll be able to quench your thirst in no time thanks to our drinks menu, featuring local juices and beers*. Whether you come alone, with friends or family, you’re sure to have a great time. Every Thursday lunchtime, the chef proposes daily dishes and regional specialities, and on Thursday evenings he plans to organize game nights with aperitif platters on the menu. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the restaurant serves à la carte local dishes and wood-fired grills cooked in the newly installed fireplace… a feast for the eyes and a promise of gourmet delights in the aroma of mouth-watering grills. And on sunny days, you’re sure to enjoy access to the terrace in the inner courtyard. *Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, consume in moderation.
